The challenge of any directly drinkable lid system is to meet the primary goals:

For the truly sustainably minded consumer. This lid is made from Ingeo and ingeneous bioplastic made from rapidly renewable plant-based resources. There is 80% less greenhous gas emissions embodied in the raw material. It also provides an option of diverting waste from landfill wherever commercial compost facilities are available.
