Biopak supports Sea Shepherd

Sea Shepherd Australia hosted their Ocean Defence Tour Fundraiser in Melbourne on Sunday 23rd November 2014. This annual event is held in a number of locations around Australia and New Zealand to raise money to support Sea Shepherd and to celebrate their efforts to defend ocean wildlife.

The Melbourne event, at Seaworks in Williamstown, was a great family day out with beautiful food, inspiring speeches, awesome live music, community and market stalls, a stunning photographic exhibition, raffles, auctions, kids activities and tours of the Sea Shepherd flag ship The Steve Irwin, which is currently docked in Williamstown.
A new addition to the fun this year was the people powered smoothie stall. Visitors were given the opportunity to hop on specially adapted “smoothie bikes” from bike n blend and mix up their own delicious fruit mixes for a small donation towards Sea Shepherd. One of the highlights of the day was the auctioning of smoothies made live on stage by Sea Shepherd Captain Peter Hammarstedt and SSA managing director Jeff Hansen. The delicious smoothies complete with signed cups raised over $100 each. The smoothie making was partly made possible by the generous donation of cups for the stall from BioPak.
As a conservation organisation Sea Shepherd are always mindful about the products used in our events and make every attempt to source ethical and environmentally concerned partners so we thank BioPak for helping us to raise funds in this unique and fun way.
