Use the hashtag #rainforest2reef on images of your special Rainforest Rescue edition of the BioCup Art Series cups on Instagram and BioPak will donate $1 for every post.

BioCup Art Series has teamed up with Rainforest Rescue and Great Barrier Reef Legacy to bring you the #rainforest2reef Art Series. The series features 17 artists whose work celebrates and raises awareness on the importance of protecting the ancient and biodiverse Daintree National Park and the Great Barrier Reef.

BioPak's pledge
The #rainforest2reef hashtag is printed on every Rainforest Rescue BioCup Art Series cup and BioPak pledge to donate $1 per image of a cup from the series posted on Instagram with this tag.*

In addition to this promotion, the funds raise from our 1% of profits to Rainforest Rescue has funded the planting of 9,000 trees and the purchase of three hectares of rainforest in the Daintree National Park since 2012.

Why is this of critical importance?
The Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Areas in far north Queensland are of international significance. Yet both areas are under threat from climate change. #rainforest2reef will showcase the diversity and connectivity of these two amazing areas.

This BioCup Art Series will features 17 different artists and artwork on our compostable BioCups to showcase the beauty, biodiversity, heritage and interconnectivity between the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.

The cups will be printed in sets of three: a rainforest, reef and an image which connects the two areas. Each image tells a tale about an area or an animal or event such as a flood. Each story will be revealed at: rainforest2reef.org.au

BioPak’s Founder, Richard Fine says, “We see this as a great opportunity to raise awareness about the impact that global warming is having on the Great Barrier Reef and hope this encourages positive behavior change to help reduce pollution and carbon emissions.”

All artists all have a strong connection to Daintree and/or Great Barrier Reef. Indigenous artist Karen Shuan is an influential member of the local community and her work Jalungkarr represents the importance of flooding to the area – “All the elders are singing for the rain to make the flash flood come.”

David Brayshaw has been visiting the Great Barrier Reef for many years. He is invested in promoting the extraordinary beauty of the Reef in attempts to mobilise further protection and care for its future.

“We’re honored to be working with such a diverse range of artists who can help tell the story of these special places and why they need protecting,” says Rainforest Rescue CEO Julian Gray. He continues, “The BioPak cups are a fantastic way to bring the rainforest and reef closer to people’s daily lives”.

This series will be available from coffee shops across Australia and New Zealand from 15 Sept 2017 to 15 Jan 2018.
